At IowaSourceMedia Group, there is a time to work, and a time to play, and sometimes work is play and play is work and we forget which is which. Allow us to explain.
IowaSourceMedia Group has a soft spot for charities and a whole lot of fun finding ways to support them. If there is a run, walk or cook-off we are there. We’re bowling with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, making Lunch Buddy dates with elementary aged kids, walking for the March of Dimes to save babies and walking to Light the Night and cure blood cancers. Each spring we pull on our oven mitts to fight for top honors in our Souper Cook-off, raising a nice chunk of change for Relay for Life along the way..
Sometimes it’s just plain fun, an injection of office good cheer.
Our annual picnic entices otherwise mild mannered IowaSourceMedia Group employees and their families to go bonkers over water balloon toss and shaved ice snow cones. Every Fourth of July we make our work stations burst with patriotism in our decorating contest. In October, we make fitness a whole lot more fun with Walktoberfest. The rules are simple. Teams count their daily steps. Then the winners (they’re all winners, really) are lavished with prizes, trophies and medals.
We are here and there and everywhere in Eastern Iowa communities. It’s fun work but someone has to do it.
